"Beta, you ought to do your homework now."
It was my mom asking me to switch off the TV which was on since last 4 hours as it was world cup 2003 finale. Being the obedient daughter i am ;) i got my bag and sat in front of the tv to complete my homework while still watching the final. i was in 5th or 6th standard back then. Same was the scenario in 2011 world cup.
I was in 12th, board exams going on and IIT-JEE exam just 10 days ahead. But though studying, my one foot was in study while other in the living room. How could i resist the temptation when it was clear that we are going to win THE WORLD CUP. O heavens!
But i was mature enough to balance the two things, all thanks to my mom !obviously!
Being an Indian, cricket is in my veins. Thank god to the twenty-twenty matches which got wrap up in 3 hours max, else it would have been more tough to do other things on the day of the match.
Needless to say, i am definitely one of those who will change their plans to watch a match. But ofcourse, instead of cancelling them i tend to find innovative ways.
Here are some of the things i do -
1. If i have home work or any other similar work like helping mom in kitchen or something that can be done while watching match, WALLA, what else can you wish for.
2. If there are plans of any family get together, i will make sure that the get together is scheduled at home and not in any restaurant. We will have dinner while watching match and the joy of watching match together can not be compared with anything else in this world. It is almost equivalent to getting one chocolate pudding free with pizza. you know what i mean :D
3. Ahhhhhhh and the most important, if i have a date. Simple, i will ask him to choose a venue where there will be TV. Domino's or MC-D or Pizza hut, the options are numerous and i will get to know if he shares the same taste as me in cricket thus protecting myself from any future clashes.
All in all one way or other cricket help in strengthening relations, be it with neighbors, family members, friends or any one associated with you anyhow.
We do not need to sideline anything for whatever may come. If it is important and valuable to us, one will make a way to sail through it.
In the end its all about priorities.

UC browser is an awesome tool to check scores and it was my massiah in college. Because be it classes or labs, i was always in touch with scores.
Do check out the links above and download UC browser in your mobile. Also it consumes way less data than other popular browsers.
Cherry on the cake, aint it.
