“One of the basic rules of the universe is that -
NOTHING IS PERFECT.
Perfection simply does not exist, without imperfection
neither you nor I would exist”
Stephen W Hawking
Who else other than Mr. Hawking could explain the beauty of
imperfection. He himself is so beautiful in his imperfections that too given to
him by god.
Recently I watched “THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING”. A movie
powerful enough to shake any mortal to the core of his/ her existence. A man
who defied every stereotype made by us. It’s amazing to watch a person who can not
even eat his own food but defined the concept of universe. What possibly is left to even ponder about any
disability, whatever may be the circumstances. Willpower and more importantly
support of loved ones is more than enough to get a man going. We humans are amazing
creatures. Indeed.
Had it not been for his wife Jane, Stephen would be long
dead today in the darkness of his room. What a shame it would have been on
mankind to let such a man die?
Stephen W. Hawking was diagnosed with amyotrophic
lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neuron disease
or Lou Gehrig's disease, that has gradually paralyzed him over the decades.
A disease in which most of us will be wailing our eyes out or worse families
will abandon in some rare cases. But he with support of his family and devotion
of his wife went on to become what he was destined to be. So what if every
organ of his is supported by technology.
If a person even after having ALS in its worst form can become
the most renown scientist, what is left that we can not do. He is a legendry example
of humans, who filled every heart with pride and every soul with faith in
thyself.
Where I was feeling low about not wanting to study for the
minor exams and after watching the movie I was left dumbfounded. My core is
flabbergasted by the GIFT of LIFE god has blessed us with. There is actually no
reason to feel low about anything but to
celebrate life. Celebrate US.
Though it is easier said than done, but the ultimate truth
is that there is nothing that can stop us doing anything even beyond our
imagination.
As Mr. Hawking went on to say,
“However difficult life may seem, there is always something
you can do and succeed at.”
Negativity, low times in life are necessary for us to be
able to appreciate good times. But what is important is to never underestimate
power of thyself and never to dare thinking about oneself as not capable enough
for anything.
Cheers to life (Y)
