“kai po che”, “kaat kaat kaat”, etc were the words football ground of NITJ was muffeled with
this Saturday, aka vasant panchami. An otherwise sluggish and sleepy weekend
like usualy it is, was rather roguish, swirmed with amiable rivalry,
exultations over just claimed patang and ofcourse gnawnings over loss of the
most prized possesion for today’s ocassion, yes ‘the patang’. Thoush it was the
first time this festival was celeberated on the soils of NITJ, but the epiphany
could still be felt.
Lets take a “tour
de kai po che”.

Ø The quest to select the best kite and thread.Ø Getting all set for “THE WAR”Ø Kids, NIT staff, students were all part of the fest, irrespective of age, gender orwhatever are the basis people classify humans these days. ;)Ø KITES, KITES & KITES everywhere. While most of them were high up in the battle field (sky here), some were resting briefly in the pavilion(viz ground) knowing they will be summoned soon for the fight and some got tangled here or there in the pursuit of saving the prides of their senapatis.Ø What fun is there in celebrating if there is no dance!!!! While many were in the battlefield trying with all their might to save their pride and honour, most were their because of DJ.Ø A closer view of the hostel visible in the dance pics. What if we can’t go there its never bad to get some NSP (‘NAYAN SUKH PRAPTI’). (Did i tell you all that football ground is amidst boys hostel??? )Ø And a few like me were their just because there were tikki, chaat and ice cream stalls. Hey! I m a foodie and i m proud of it. :pØ Half of my hopes and excitement got shattered and went way down and down and down the depths of oceans when the faculty chopped off the permission for the Ferris wheel. PS: trust me i even heard the voice of my heart breaking into pieces. :’(So all in all it was a day worth cherishing. For those who went home this time, trust me u really missed something good. :pFor now tada. mum is coming and i gotta go to receive her. :) :)
